Clipping Your Glider's
Nails

Are you finding little red marks all over your arm after you glider
walks on you? Are your gliders nails getting hung up on things all the
time? Perhaps its time to trim the nails. Here is the method I have
found works best with all sorts of 'glider personalities'.
Get a regular nail clipper like you would clip your nails or a baby's
nails with. Make sure you are in a well-lighted area . Wrap your glider
gently in a soft cloth, making sure to cover the head, too. Never
squeeze your glider or hold it down, but do keep it covered with the
cloth. This not only helps give you a bit more control over the glider,
but will also help the glider not to associate any minor discomfort with
you. Reach in and pull one foot at a time out of the cloth wrap and
grasp the ankle/wrist area firmly between your thumb and forefinger,
making sure the glider is still completely wrapped in the cloth. Run
your forefinger forward slightly to spread out the glider's 'fingers'.
Using the nail clippers, clip only the VERY TIP of each nail. On
the front feet, clip the nails on each of the 10 'fingers'. On the back
feet, clip only the 2 bigger nails on each foot. The thumb on the back
foot does not have a nail and the 2 smaller nails are the glider's
'comb' (used for cleaning).
After you are all done, unwrap the glider and give it a little treat.
